We’re looking for other options for future orders because Versaclimber is too expensive and Steel Climber has no service. Looking at vendors on Alibaba…

    • I figured as much seems like a Home Depot project and there resale is 500 our less dollars utter junk stick with Versaclimber

Post-sale assistance is crucial; anyone else with similar experience?

    • Thank you for posting this feedback. I actually ordered a Steel Climber a year or two ago, but the ship time was so slow that I canceled my order. To be fair, I’m pretty sure I ordered in late winter and the website does indicate winter is their busiest time of year. I was refunded quickly, so no worries there. I am once again itching for a quality vertical climber, but a Versaclimber is too expensive. Used Versaclimbers are hard to come by, and when you do find one, it’s being sold at nearly new prices. I guess my search continues. Alibaba has some interesting offerings.

  3. The main difference that matters to us is that the steel climber has no stand, unlike the free-standing versaclimber. There is no place in our home to drill into walls to support the steel climber.

  4. I think steel climbers wheels wear fast along with the pads

  5. I am deciding between the two i only worry steel climbers wheels keep wearing along with the pads

  6. Where’s the picture of the steelclimber? K

  7. The big difference is that the VErsaClimber has a display unit. You can track distance/elevation you cover. Essential.

  8. Steelclimber, hands down is the one.
A rock solid piece of equipment that can take abuse from a 6 foot, 250 pound monkey like me.
    Awesome.

  9. Just ordered the Steel Climber because the base model versaclimber does not offer resistance or cross crawl while the steel climber does – albeit I had to order the extra handles for that feature it is still more economical. I can’t help but think the price of the versaclimber is really inflated for all the marketing.

    • Actually, the base model Versaclimber is the “H” home version, which *only* comes with the cross crawl.

    • The steel climber seems like a better deal but I know you can overhang climb on the versa climber by using it upside down. just hanging on underneath by placing feet in straps and reaching up for the handles from under .
MY QUESTIN IS: Can the be done with the steel climber?

  10. Great review, Versa Climber has been king-of-the-hill for so long its good to see a worthwhile challenger enter the fray. Seems to be little difference between whats on offer but for price. Steel Climber looks to be a more rugged, no nonsense kind of offering which I find appealing and coupled with the quick setup I think this is the one for me…sorry Versa Climber!

  11. Great Review. Thank you.

I need to do deeper research centered around the differences to support a purchase. What makes up the $600.00 delta? Attachments, Selective display? Bells & Whistles or pure function with no frills?. Choice is yours.

  12. This was a very useful review.
