Neato BotVac 80 Features

Neato BotVac features new and improved Laser-guided navigation system combined with the Neato’s patented BotVision navigation software that scans and maps the room, plans, and methodically cleans. Combines new powerful suction with a blade brush, it also has a precise edge cleaning side brush, bagless bin, and extra-large filter. One of the unique features of Neato BotVac is that it automatically goes from room to room. When it is down on the power, it goes to its charging base and then back to where it left off. You can easily schedule daily cleanings or just push a button for instant multi-room or spot cleaning with the Control Centre. Neato Botvac like its predecessors is “D” shaped and not round like Roomba. That makes it cleans close to the walls and gets into corners. Neato BotVac can see in the dark, it can detects obstacles like furniture, toys and stairs, and responds by carefully moving around them, without missing a spot. BotVac is upgradable with new features available in future. BotVac 80 and 85 are good for cleaning pet hair while Neato BotVac 70e is budget friendly and BotVac 75 is suited more for picking up dust and allergens.

Compare Review: Neato BotVac 80 vs Neato XV21 vs Roomba 880

Neato BotVac 80 Review

NeatoBot 80 scores high on the vacuuming part. It gets the job done but with human interference. Customers have complained about Neato BotVac 80 getting stuck on chairs, corners and curtains. Though the vacuum capability of the BotVac 80 is better than other models, most of the time it cannot complete the tasks without human assistance. Most of the debris collected gets stuck to the filter itself, it is hard to empty the large dustbin. You have to wipe the filter clean with your hands. The Neato BotVac 80 constantly ignores the boundry markers. The new boundry markers are half the length of the earlier model markers. The side brush works well on plane surfaces of wall but is too small to clean dust from underneath something. The BotVac 80 model still uses the NiMH batteries and not the Li-Ion or LiFePO type batteries. Battery life is just about 6 months and then you have to replace it for about $75-$100, they don’t warranty batteries after 6 months . Most customers who reviewed the BotVac 80 like the “Clean House Button” but the other buttons are not so prominent and the screen is smaller than the other older versions.
