When I went to order the 2 cans (1free), they also promoted a twelve pack which I purchased. The shipping and handling seemed high but about standard for this type of promotion. To date I have only received the 2 cans and I was charged the entire shipping and handling amount. When I call to check on the arrival of the other 12 cans (3 calls so far), I am told it is still on back order and they do not have any date or estimate for when it will be shipped. While their customer service department is courteous, it is not helpful.
I will update with status of the balance of the order but don’t anticipate they will be in any hurry to fulfill since they already have been paid for the other charges.
The order processing is flawed as it does not allow you to review SHIPPING charges prior to submitting the orders. After order confirmation, you discover your buy one/get one “free” can is in reality a $6.00 can. I was charged $123 for eight cans, where my 4 “free” cans resulted in almost $50 in Shipping. USPS shipping would be $10.00 for the box size that was delivered,(If it fits, it ships promo). And the shipping was done locally from Van Nuys, about 20 miles from my house.
I tried to cancel the order immediately and was told by rep that it took 24 hours for the order to process, so she could not cancel the order until the next day and I would need to call back.
I received an email confirmation. When I called back, I was told they could not find an order in the system, so I assumed order was canceled. It did arrive a few days later, (which is when I found out it shipped locally). Attempts to resolve the issue was unsatisfactory, as they claimed no supervisors were available. The promised supervisor callback never occurred.
Their counter argument to my complaint was to ask “have you tried the product?”. It is a fire extinguisher, so I guess I should light my couch on fire to determine if the product justifies the misrepresentation by Coldfire’s ordering process.
The product remains unopened and I have filed a complaint with my credit card company. The product may be as good as advertised on Pitchmen, but the company order process is deceitful and their customer service reinforces that behavior. I would say this is a scam.
