AquaTru CLAIMS

How does AquaTru work? – AquaTru uses a miniaturized reverse osmosis technology to practically eliminate or significantly reduce all toxic and harmful chemicals in the water from your tap. AquaTru employs the same technology used by all the major bottles water companies.

AquaTru uses a four stage reverse osmosis process to purify water:

  • Stage 1: The mechanical filter gets rid of larger particles like sediment and rust.
  • Stage 2: The reverse osmosis pre-filter eliminates chlorine and chloramines.
  • Stage 3: The reverse osmosis membrane cleans out dangerous pollutants, chemicals and contaminants.
  • Stage 4: The activated coconut carbon block filter ensures you get pure, clear, safe, clean and great tasting water.

Perfect for home, office and travel – With AquaTru in your home or office you can save hundreds of dollars a year on buying bottled water. The AquaTru water filter is portable so you can use it while traveling too.

Life of the AquaTru filters – The main RO filter and the dual function pre-filter will last for approximately between 1 ½ and 3 years for about 2000 gallons of water. The final carbon VOC filter will last about 1000 gallons of water and needs to be replaced every year.

Cost of the AquaTru filters – The cost of the Dual Function Pre-filter and the final carbon VOC filter is about $20 each and the cost of the RO filter is about $40.

Capacity – The AquaTru tap water tank can hold about a gallon of water and the clean water tank can hold about 3 quarts of purified water.

Purification time of AquaTru – AquaTru is designed to purify a gallon of water in 12 to 15 minutes. It also removes more than 90% of the fluoride that is present in the water.

Alkaline water – AquaTru water is close to neutral at a 7.0 ph. If you prefer to drink alkaline water, then, you can simply buy natural ionic minerals from AquaTru and added it to the purified water. This will give you naturally alkaline water.

Electricity
AquaTru operates off a 120 volt AC wall plug and uses about $2.00 of electricity a year.

AquaTru is Safe to use – AquaTru uses Tritan plastic. Having been tested at universities and independent third-party labs, Tritan has proven to be safe and free of estrogenic and androgenic activity. If you want to avoid all plastics, simply transfer the water purified by AquaTru into a glass pitcher after the filtering process.

Mineral content – To purify water, AquaTru uses a 4-stage reverse osmosis process. Most people in North Americans prefer low TDS water since it has the “cleanest” taste. AquaTru creates low TDS (total dissolved solids/minerals) water similar to rain water.

If you want to increase the mineral content of AquaTru water (to make high TDS/mineral water), you can use a natural ionic mineral concentrate sold on the AquaTru website.

AquaTru is designed to filter municipal water. Although the RO membrane will filter out micro-organisms and pathogens, AquaTru is not recommended to use for lake, stream or well water.

Purification process of AquaTru – AquaTru employs two professional quality technologies which are not found in any other water purifier that can be operated without a connection to plumbing.

Most counter top water purifiers rely on activated carbon. Carbon filters have a vast difference in their effectiveness. AquaTru uses the best and most expensive carbon block filter.

However, even the best carbon filter cannot effectively remove common “inorganic” pollutants. Reverse osmosis removes the contaminants not removed by activated carbon, including arsenic, fluoride, hexavalent chromium, nitrates, prescription drug residue and perchlorate.

The AquaTru filters have been tested for a total of 128 contaminants. AquaTru is in the process of independently verifying these results and the results will be published on the website when completed.

Countries available – AquaTru’s universal 12 volt adaptor will work anywhere in the world but currently it is only available for sale in the United States and Canada.

AquaTru REVIEW

Shelly Crow claims in her review – “Having used different brands of RO for over 15 years, none ran as slow as AquaTru. It takes 15 minutes to get a gallon of water. AquaTru is not recommended unless you have plenty of time to wait for your water.”

Bruce Corey mentions in his review – “AquaTru works well and the water tastes good but it wastes a lot of water. It uses 2-3 times the amount of water.”

Samuel Roberts states in his review – “The water from the AquaTru unit is good and tasty but it does not have a good water pressure. It takes a really long time to fill the 10 cup coffee maker carafe. When using the AquaTru unit it starts running for 4-6 hrs. Even with a small glass of water it will run for at least an hour. The taste of the water is great but it is a very noisy and slow unit.

  1. I think Bruce Corey’s “review” is fake. He says, “It uses 2-3 times the amount of water.”
Anyone who has ever used an AquaTru knows it is impossible for it be wasting anything more than about 30%. One fills a clear input tank and it goes down to a 2” of discard water height when the collection tank is filled. Clearly the majority of input water is converted to pure. – No room for waste to be 200% – 300% unless Bruce is drinking the waste water and discards the larger filtered tank water!

  2. I ordered this unit from the Indigogo campaign last year. The first units were shipped in March 2016 and since then I have had no issues with the unit whatsoever.

From my tests compared to a friends RO system under the sink, it is wasting much less water than your typical RO system. The quality of the water is exactly what it should be, and the speed doesn’t bother me much. The only other filter I would ever buy is a gravity fed system, and they’re slow too. Be patient for quality people! You can store water in other places. I keep a carafe of water in the fridge, and the unit is topped off all the time. If you need a huge amount of water immediately, store it somewhere is my advice. I haven’t changed filters, and don’t expect to until next year sometime, and pricing on those is reasonable. No regrets here.
