Compare Pros/Cons

Pocket Hose

There are many problems with the Pocket Hose, including the adapter that can be cracked. The inner pipe is not sturdy enough either and crack causing leaks, which is a nuisance. The hose doesn’t do much to live up to the expectations one might have about it.

While it’s true that the Pocket Hose is lightweight and one doesn’t kink like the way it says, but the flow is high as expected and it can be heavy to hold at the point in time. That makes it a self-defeating exercise to buy this Pocket Hose meant for your convenience.

Ordering this hose can be a nightmare because often you don’t get a chance to review your final order, which is a letdown. The delivery of the Hose can take a long time too and if the product doesn’t show up at your doorstep at all then it can be tricky to get through customer service.

XHose
You expect the hose to work when the tap water runs and it gets to its expanded size. But does it happen; no because plastic fitting hooked up to the faucet can blow off. Quality of connections overall is quite disappointing and not what you expect from a good product.
You are told that the hose is super strong and will last for long; it also has a 90 day warranty. But you are in trouble if soon after you notice leaks or it doesn’t work anymore. And that’s not uncommon, which leaves you in a soup with customer service.

The 75’ hose might be difficult to use for many but there’s a solution in the form of 25’ one that can be used with quick-disconnect fittings at the end. Using them means all you need to do is carry lightweight and shorter sections and the fittings come apart easily too.

Flexable Hose
The hose doesn’t work like it’s claimed in the infomercials and its making appears to be quite flimsy as well. It’s certainly a hose that won’t last for a long time. You have to pay huge amounts on shipping and if you want to return the Flexable Hose that costs you as well, making things very difficult for you.

They are not easy to connect and if you do manage to, there can be leaks, which is a disaster. The water pressure you get is another problem with this hose, which makes it practically useless for your regular jobs.

I own four 50 ft pocket hoses bought at Walgreens. 1 just blew up and separated 3 ft from end one has pinhole leak in the shut off valve 1 has tear 1 ft from fittings. I will try to take back to walgreens drug. Meanwhile I have ordered 2 50 ft DAP pro flexible hoses, brass fittings larger diameter… Waiting a bit for delivery! 2-4 weeks.

I like the concept, all four were great until the failures!

Have returned several pocket hoses because they leak in less than a month. If manufacturer fixes this issue it is a great idea.

I bought a Pocket hose and I was amaze. It really expanded and stretches as advertised, but after several uses the hose came out of the nozzle. I returned to the retailer and got another one. This one only lasted only one use and the hose came out of the nozzle again. I will love to try other brand but now I’m scared it will have the same problem. It does not sustain the pressure of the water when the nozzle is closed.

  4. xhose user says:

Have had the Xhose for 2 seasons now (we have 3 25′ sections) and have found it to be great. We used to have to lug around that big long hose to water everything and/or wash vehicles etc. Now it’s so easy. We don’t leave out in the elements but store it in a lidded pot next to the faucet. Never had an issue. I would recommend.

Pocket hose has cheap fittings and broke with just bumping into it. Would NOT buy.
