  • Mint – Brightens dull aging skin
  • Pink – Conceals dark circles and uneven skin tone

Mineral Makeup has a lots of benefit over the traditional chemical-based makeups. It contains natural ingredients and lets your skin breath. Mineral makeup is especially good for people having acne or sensitive skin. They are also free from “skin irritants” like synthetic dyes, talc, fragrances, binders etc. and are soft to your skin. Though some mineral makeup kits contain oxybismuth (bismuth oxy-chloride) which can cause skin irritation, Jerome Alexander’s Magic Mineral is free of oxybismuth. Mineral Makeups have be good anti-inflammatory properties and are generally hypoallergenic.

Most Mineral Makeups in the market come in various colors to suit your skintone, it can be sometimes frustrating to choose the right color and if you happen to choose a wrong one it could be a disaster. Magic Minerals works on all skintones and one shade suits everyone. You don’t have to go through the frustrating task of choosing the right color.

Application is easy – Move the brush over the Magic Mineral powder and brush it over the face.

The bristles of the brush are coarse and somewhat rough. The bristles fall apart even after using them for the first time. The powder is orange in color with bronze, green, pink and white spots. As claimed in the commercial the Mineral Makeup is scent-free. Upon application the Magic Mineral does not feel heavy on your face. BUT! based on the reviews we came across on various websites – the Magic Mineral powder does not deliver what is promised in the advertisement. Even after applying on the bare skin you won’t feel much difference. It works well if you already have a good skin but for those with skin imperfections it would be a disappointment.

Also it is not well suited for people with brown Asian skin.

Magic Minerals by Jerome Alexander Review

Who does not want a flawless skin enriched with youthful toned skin cells and skin shade that has pure one tonality and no blemish?

Women around the world have dreamt of this and used thousand and more products, medications, cosmetic treatments, salon visits and lot more than the pages can cover.

But the finesse of the needed magic just does not happen. But worry no more because market gets its first ever unique formulation of minerals that works as a foundation, corrector and concealer to give you the flawless finish you have wanted all this while.

Yes, Magic Minerals is a mineral powder and this product is taking the skin market by the storm through the magical powder which is micronized so finely that it does not get caught up in between lines or wrinkles.

Having personally used it, let me assure one thing, Magic Minerals is not a talc, does not even have fragrance and does not cause any skin irritant feel during or after the use. The best of all was the product’s phenomenal coverage on rosacea (skin acne). It does not cover by the word but does create a disguise blemishing appearance which is really nice.

If you have a good skin, this product is a lovable “must have” in your carry bag. Your skin will never go dull and any imperfection will be gone even before it hits the mirror reflection.

Expensive salons, cosmetic treatments, medications and harsh chemical based cream, gel and lotions can compromise on the skin’s health. Magic Minerals is worth a dollar for a penny.

Some of the skin patch like under the eye, nose corners, cheek bone etc. needs colour correction sometimes. Magic Minerals helps in disappearing of the redness skin patch, dark circles, pale look, and gets the skin even toned with natural SPF and ph balance.

Really not worth the money, doesn’t do what its says it will. Its just a face powder no different to any other that can be bought on the high street, i still have to use my normal foundation as well. It doesn’t go very far either, I’ve had mine a week and its nearly all gone and I’ve not used it that much really. I wont be wasting my money on it again!!!! :(

Where can I buy the products in South Africa?

  3. Jessie says:

Magic Minerals causes my face to break out. Mascara was all dried out. Phone is disconnected and they will not answer emails that I have written in order to return the product. Not happy with customer service or this product. Trying to send back and get my money back. So if anyone has had any luck with that please help.

Years ago I used Jerome’s stacks and loved them, except the cases would crack and no longer ‘stack”. I ordered from HSN, then could no longer find the products. I am an almost 72 yr old Caucasian/Native American. My skin is very light and a pure beige, but relatively wrinkle free, (often guessed to be 15 to 20 years younger) and I am allergic to products with perfume and other kinds of ingredients. I have used Bare Minerals (too glittery), Sheer Cover (too heavy except in summer, too drying in winter), Lauren Hutton (Naturals OK, except kind of complicated), and RAW (too expensive). The Magic Minerals is so easy and fast, doesn’t settle in lines, and blends perfectly with my skin color. The blush is natural looking and doesn’t give that too pink clown look that old ladies tend to have. I also have t he stack, which is great for travel. The concealer that came with the stack is perfect–it has a center that moisturizes so the concealer blends into the skin and looks really soft and natural, with good cover. For everyday, I just use concealer under eyes, the powder, blush, a touch of moist highlighter on my lids, soft brown eyeliner, mascara, and lip gloss. Fast, easy, foolproof and young looking! It is also the least expensive of the brands, important when you are living on retirement in these economic times.

  5. Blue says:

I used Jerome Alexander products (he had the GREATEST compact stacks that held EVERYTHING you need in one manageable, portable stack of lip color, eye color/blush and base) for awhile. I bought this correcting powder in a couple of kits and loved the way it brightened and evened. I did use a liquid (or non-caking/creasing cream) in a pale yellow on my brown sunspots and if I had any dark circles, with this. He had a bronze color similar powder that I dusted over for some color and I had a pretty bronze rose blush called Bella Rosa that I use for cheek and even on lids. He may still have those available for purchase and the bronze might be better for darker skins than the regular. If you have scars or marks I would use a lightweight full coverage concealer on those, under or over powder (blended well tapping with finger). If you have sensitive skin try using the sponge on a test area. It really worked well for me and I love and recommend trying it.

I have used Magic Minerals for some time now. I am in my early 50`s and do not have problem skin. When I use Magic minerals I always get compliments on how nice my skin looks. This is so easy to apply and it does last a long time. Much better than thick heavy shinny foundation. If you haven’t tried it I suggest you do and hope you will find it as good as I do.

  7. Kelly says:

I bought Magic minerals out of curiosity of how well or bad is the claimant of skin perfection and the name suggesting magic.

Magic Minerals contain special colour correctors that claim to cover up any imperfections. Mint makes redness disappear, yellow works magically to conceal the dark circles, Lavender transforms yellow skin, Pink revitalizes the skin. In all it gives full circle service to every nook and corner of the face giving it a glow that comes from the skin but stays in the confidence.

Magic Minerals is all-natural and hypoallergenic with natural SPF. The extra-large compact gives you three times the normal size. I very fondly applied the Magic Minerals as per the directions to wake up and find the beautiful face which will remove blemishes and any imperfection to neutralize the chemical damage and balance out on skin tone and vitalization need.

The morning came off as a horrific nightmare to me. Mirror reflection suggested that the product has not gone well with the skin type and made it even rough and looked like some sort of dermatitis problem. Pimple was finding their way and skin felt like orange peel. I had never faced a make-up problem before, but this did some serious damage. I would not suggest whether the product is bad or good since sample skin test was not done by me in this case. But try the tester before taking the purchase step.

I have gone through some websites where females like me have claimed that even after applying on the bare skin you won’t feel much difference. It works well if you already have a good skin but for those with skin imperfections it would be a disappointment. Also it is not well suited for people with brown Asian skin.

Just realized that this product appears to be for white women older. What a waste of money! Makes me look pale and tired! I think the product is misleading and therefore should state it is not for women of colour. Looked on a website just now and all the advertisement is for white women. It cost me £20.00 in superdrug; wish I had spent it on a MAC product!

  9. Sally says:

I recently bought this after being impressed with its supposed coverage on rosacea (which I suffer from). After testing it on my skin, which aside from the red areas is very pale, it is OK. It doesn’t cover the rosacea, it doesn’t cover dark circles, but it does disguise small blemishes.

I would say if you have good skin that needs a sheer coverage then this is ideal for you, because it does cover skin well, but if, like me, you need something a bit more ‘industrial’ in terms of coverage, then I would say you are wasting your money.

  10. D. Schmidt says:

I (tried) to order from the official magicminerals.com website. But the order does not seem to come through. The email address provided does not work! Anyone else the same problems??

Looking for a Magic Minerals alternative, any suggestions?

  12. Valerie Dunster says:

I bought Magic minerals from the local Asda store, now being sold by JML.

I had been so impressed by the adverts seen on Ideal world and thought it was just the make up for me to hide my dark circles under the eyes.

I woke up the next morning with rough, underskin reaction, my friends said it looked like Dermatitis, my skin feels so rough and pimply, my other friend commented that my skin looks like orange peel. even my eyelids are puffy and pimpled. I have never suffered any make up problems before. It may hide some blemishes, but has caused a lot worse.
I would recommend that everyone does a sample skin test first.

I have tried to contact J.A. to let him know but have failed to find a site to allow comments to go directly to J.A. I cannot find my purchase receipt. so all is lost I supposed.

    • jay says:

The same thing has happened to me, my face is bright red, with a pimply rash all under the skin ……not spots…its a shame you can’t sample before you buy. I hope other people read this before spending their money.

I just wanted to share my review on the Magic Minerals. I’m 22 Asian fair colored. I have searched for so many mineral foundations but this is just right for me it is one the best I have ever tried. It sets so nice on my skin. I ordered a small gift set just to be safe but I use every single thing from eye shadow to lipsticks and I have to say everything goes so well with my skin tone. I do have a very good skin thought and this is just perfect for me as I don’t usually wear heavy makeup.

  14. Poconos Babe says:

I found this half-price at the grocery store and although I’ve only used it a few times (I rarely wear makeup), I have been pleased with it, especially for the price. It covers my red cheeks quite well for a grocery store product (or any product, for that matter).

  17. Jackie says:

I first purchased the Magic Minerals on HSN along with other products which came as a set and I have to say I was thoroughly delighted with all the products. I am not able to use just anything because of allergies but I was able to use each product that came with the set without any problems. I reordered a few times thru HSN (not available now) and then it was not available. I tried for a long time to find it but was unable. I finally was able to obtain it directly from Mr. Alexander! I am delighted to see it is now available online and the price is very reasonable!

When first applied, it may seem to be too light, but after on your skin it tends to blend with your skin color. I cannot attest to how it blends with tanned skin, but I can say that it does what is claimed – it covers well and and is a very nice product. I shared it with co-workers when we had to get pictures taken for our website and they also were pleased.

Thanks Mr. Alexander for making this product available again online!

How does this Magic Minerals work on a tan face? I am afraid it will make me look too white. How can one color work for “all”?
