Are you one of the many people suffering from sleeplessness or are devoid of good night’s sleep? Do you have back pain when you wake up in the morning?  Such things can make you unhappy and feeling sleepy throughout the day. It might be possible that your mattress is giving you trouble and can cause all the above issues. The mattresses available in the market are in one way or the other not good enough to give 100% sleep satisfaction. Introducing Dormeo Octaspring, the latest mattress engineered to provide that perfect sleep.

Dormeo Octaspring Mattress
Dormeo Octaspring is made out of the award winning Octaspring technology designed by leading designer Willy Poppe. It works in a very different way than regular spring based mattresses. The spring based mattress pushes body weights back up when sat or slept upon whereas the Octaspring comforts and accepts the body weight giving a cushioning effect. Octasprings are made out of superior quality polyurethane foam and memory foam. Each individual spring has honey comb foam structure boosting and enhancing excellent spring elasticity. The 8 supportive columns in the foam gives way for 3D adaptability  and strength to support the entire body easily.

Regular springs can provide with ventilation to keep the freshness but can be uncomfortable at the spring pressure points. Ordinary memory foam cannot provide with ventilation and can cause discomfort with humidity. Dormeo Octaspring is the combination of the springs ventilation technique and the comfort of memory foam minus their drawbacks. Octasprings connected to each other with a layer of 4 cm thick memory foam provides with the perfect stability and comfort. Octaspring design uses very less of memory foam to provide high elasticity and support to the body in any sleeping position. In fact the Octaspring are attached in an individual pattern so that it does not disturb the entire mattress when an area is exposed to weight. This means disturbed sleep because of movements of a partner is completely eliminated.

Apart from all the above benefits Dormeo Octaspring has durability like none other mattress. It has been tested with hundreds of pounds of pressure on the surface. It is even tested for over 60,000 times simulating around 20 years of usage and it still works like a new mattress. Dormeo Octaspring is available in three different designs each for specific usage. Dormeo Octaspring can be tested for a risk-free trial of 60 nights. If individuals are not satisfied with the performance, money will be returned back to them. Have a good night sleep.

After a lot of research we purchased a Tempflow mattress. Made here in Westlake Ca. I spoke to them on the phone and after about 15 minutes they were sure which one we needed. We only live a few miles away so we went to the factory and laid on about 5 different models we picked the one that the salesman had chosen for us just by having a conversation. They make the bed to order so it took about five weeks. They are amazing. They have fixed everything that is wrong with Other memory foam mattresses ,Doesn’t hold heat. Has holes in it to breath. No off gassing. Very important, if you want to put another cover on it , make sure you buy a 100% cotton cover, sides too, not poly. I couldn’t find one bad review about the Tempflow. We’ll worth it to have it made and shipped to you. No more aches and pains when we wake up in the morning and we are in our 50’s. We bought the pillows too. They take a little getting used to, but we’ll worth it . Sweet Dreams!!!!

I saw this ad about Octaspring mattress and then I saw Octaspring reviews, not very good ones. I will not be buying one I will stick to my isocool memory foam 4 inch, love i,t would not trade it for anything. Please people try this product – you can go to a Walmart of JC Pennys. No pain at all, I love it.

I had a Tempur-pedic before and it was way too hot and too firm. I turned it back in within the two month trial period and exchanged it for a Dirmeo. I love my Dormeo!!!!!! For me, it is way way better than the Tempur-pedic and not nearly as hot.

This Octaspring Mattress sucks, it literally fell apart. I am only 18 157 pounds and holy. I had it two for just months. Please dont buy this product, the springs are just floating and not held in place.

  5. Jenny says:

I’m just wondering about the off-gassing with the Dormeo bed? We have the Tempurpedic and it stinks to high heaven. Need some advice on this please.

Let me say first that I would never jump straight to a scathing review without first trying to work things out with the company (Dormeo Octaspring). However, I have tried over the course of months to resolve issues to no avail, so I think it is important that people know what they’re getting into when dealing with this company.

I have never experienced such terrible service in my whole life!!! I’ve had two crazy incidences with this company – one that took months to resolve and another that is still in progress.

    1) Getting the mattress. My mattress was delivered (or en route to be delivered) to the wrong address about 3 or 4 times over the course of months. Every time I discovered that it was headed to or had arrived at yet another incorrect location, I went around and around being passed from customer service, to corporate office, to supervisors, to the delivery company, and to the someone the delivery company subcontracted with. RIDICULOUS. Eventually, the mattress got to me, but in the meantime, my husband and I had to sleep on our couch because, thinking we had a mattress on the way, we got rid of ours. A customer service supervisor did extend our risk-free trial period, and he gave us two free pillows – but this was only after months of aggravation AND me prompting him to provide me with SOME sort of compensation for my troubles.

    2) Monthly payments. Like most people investing in this product, I agreed to small monthly payments over a certain period of time. These payments were to be billed to my credit card automatically – set it and forget it, right? Not when you deal with this company! I received a voicemail a couple of months ago telling me I owed the entire amount due to my payments not being fulfilled. Unbeknownst to me since I was under the impression that all was being taken care of automatically, they did not receive my last couple of payments. I would gladly have resolved this quickly had I known, but apparently, they tried to reach me by email and did not receive a response. Meanwhile, they clearly have other ways of contacting me (since I received their voicemail quite easily). Also, something must have gone wrong on their end since all of my other automatic credit card payments were going through without a hitch. So, once again, I battled with customer service, who said it was fine, I just needed to send a check for $1000+ immediately to resolve this issue. I refused to do this since the lapsed payment was not my fault. Customer service spoke with her supervisor, and I thought the issue was resolved. However, a month and a half or so later, i received a letter from their billing department saying that my account would go to collections if I did not pay the full amount. Of course, I called customer service again, and the lady tried to convince me that since my payments were going through as scheduled, that letter was just saying I “had the option to pay in full.” Clearly, that’s not what this warning letter said. So, I spoke with her supervisor who assured me that all was well and that I would just continue to receive monthly warning letters about collections because it is “company policy” and that I should just ignore those letters. WHAT?! It’s company policy to send letters to paying customers every month warning that their account is going to collections?!?!?! The supervisor eventually conceded to put a stop to those letters, which worked for one month. Guess what I got this month though: another letter thanking me for my continued payments but saying that I owe the whole amount in full! So I called again and spoke to a manager of customer service. He promised to “look into it,” and when I asked how I would know if the issue has been resolved, he said I’d know if I get another letter. Really? No offer of a courtesy call? No offer of any type of compensation for my troubles or even an apology? WOW. I guess I’ll just have to wait until next month to find out if I will be arguing with the company yet again.

    BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Dormeo does not stand behind its product, and they don’t care about their customers.

My husband and I purchased an Octaspring in April of 2013.

Just after the 90-day warranty ran out, my husband and I started waking up with backaches. Thanks, Murphy’s Law!

We went back to Sit ‘n Sleep, where we purchased it and they told us we needed to schedule a mattress inspection. We did. When the inspector – from a third-party company – came out, even HE was surprised at the visible wear in a 3.5-month-old mattress. He suggested we turn the mattress, head-to-foot. I informed him that we had just a week prior. He said he’d never seen wear this significant. Please note that I weigh 150 pounds, and my husband weighs 170, so we aren’t large people.

We had a Tempur-Pedic for 13 years before it wore out, and it never showed any visual signs of wear.

One business day after the mattress inspection, I called Sit ‘n Sleep for a determination. I was told that Dormeo had denied our request for replacement. This is not good. My husband and I are not getting decent sleep, and we are owners of a very successful, if not stressful, business. Good sleep is essential to us!

So, I had to go buy a new mattress, which will be delivered today, August 15, 2013. It is a traditional spring mattress; you know, proven technology. Meanwhile, I’m still paying off the Octaspring (I had to finance it because our mattress, fridge, garage door and garbage disposal all went out at the same time our main line backed up in April – happy birthday to me!).

I plan to sue. I’ve never sued anyone, but I am angry!!!

I will post photos soon and link them in a reply to this posting so you can all see for yourselves.

Good luck on the mattress search, just don’t get sucked into this “innovative technology.”

Thank you so much for your post. I am sorry you had the problems you had, But you have probably save a lot of people a lot of money. I for one will NOT be buying this mattress. I was thinking to actually buy the dormeo octaspring full size bed model 8000 or 8500, not too sure now ??? I did hear that unlike memory foam mattresses, the octaspring – you won’t sink-in ??

    • Maya says:

I had the same problem. My Octaspring is less than 1 year old. I weigh 115 pound and i am the only one sleeping on it. When I felt the mattress was somehow getting softer, I opened up the Octaspring mattress cover and was SHOCKED to discover the memory foam had completely broken apart around the area where my hips rest. I am talking ripped, broken and completely worn out! I did not expect this type of quality from a product I paid so much for. I can only recommend owners take a look under the cover (unzip it from the bottom and try to squeeze your head in without taking the whole cover off) to see if the memory foam is still intact. It may look fine from the top but you may be shocked at what you see inside.

Is the Dormeo Octaspring mattress recommended to people with pressure sores?

  9. John Doe says:

Considering the high retail cost of these beds, it’s only fair (and moral) to tell you consumers that these mattresses are made very sloppy. The majority of them are shipped from Belgium, but they are also being produced by a warehouse in TX. Look at the label/tag on your mattress…rather, it’s ‘cover’. If it has a TX address (which isn’t even listed as Dormeo Octaspring), then you probably should re-consider. Mattresses are constantly returned, where the cover is changed and then it’s re-sold. There is no process of inspecting returns for stains/odors/defect…just a simple “change the cover and box it up”. Is that really what you want for your $3000/$5000 purchase? Trust me folks, they are using dirty springs that have been laying on the floor to construct your “custom” mattress; allergy sufferers beware! It’s just a shame that you will pay such a high price for a mattress that is virtually used/dirty.

I hope mine will be a new one. That sounds awful. I really need a memory foam bed that sleeps cool. tried temperpedic and it is like a huge block of foam and I don’t know how anyone can sleep on that. It retains heat and it very hot.

The Dormeo seems much cooler and nicer foam. I tried the 8500 and loved it but it was just too soft, hopefully the 6500 will be great.

  10. Cindy Hoekstra says:

I purchased the 8500 Dormeo from Sleep Country and it was very nice (just too soft for me) I was told that it would be med/firm and when I woke up with a back ache I was disappointed. Then I made a huge mistake and exchanged for a Tempurpedic.

The Dormeo was much better and cooler. After paying $4500. for the Dormeo and Temper I tried to see if Sleep Country would let me exchange one final time to the 6500 – the medium firm Dormeo but they will not. I am very saddened that I will never get to experience the 6500 as I truly believe this would have been the bed for me.

I am now stuck with a very hot Tempurpedic. More people need to post their review of the Dormeo Octaspring as there isn’t much feedback for clients to review before purchasing.

    • Matt H says:

      Cindy,

I reviewed the Octaspring for a very long time before buying. I purchased the 8500 over the phone after going to Sleep Country to sample the different Octaspring beds that they sell. The Sleep Country sales rep was either un-informed or was deliberately misleading us as he said that only the European sizes were available in Canada (meaning that the bed would be 2″ shorter). They were also selling the bed and boxspring together for $4300 cdn. I bought the bed over the telephone for $3600 delivered plus HST, plus they threw in 2 free pillows because I paid for it all in one payment. The bed that I ordered and received was the standard North American size of 80″ long. The bed arrived about 2 weeks later. There was some confusion at first as the manufactureres put the cover on the wrong way (the Dormeo logo should be on the top right?). Well after 2 nights on a really hard memory form top (bottom!!) we turned the mattress over and, low and behold, we got the same bed that we sampled at Sleep Country. We are a couple of weeks in and so far so good.
We found it very odd that the manufacturer would make the mistake of putting the cover on backwards as we were close to returning the bed for being way too hard. Also, I was surprised to hear that Sleep Country would not let you return the TemperPedic. The Octaspring has a 90 day satisfaction guarantee which certainly makes the buying choice easier.

      Happy sleeping!!

        Matt

I just ordered the Dormeo 6500 and it arrives soon. How are you finding the mattress? My only concern was it is too firm? I know the 8500 is much too soft and sleep country sales rep told me almost every sale of the 8500 has been exchanged for the 6500.

Just seeing how you like the mattress so far and does it soften up a little after sleeping on it?

        Cindy
