do not try this at home, the setting the car on fire is a magic trick that dates back to the 80s. from what I recall, when you use lighter fluid, the vapor is highly flammable but the actual liquid is not. so when you spill lighter fluid on a car, and light it, there is always going to be a layer (the fluid) that never catches fire, and its this layer of liquid lighter fluid that is actually protecting your car, and not the wax product. The test I would like to see is common household black spray paint. after leaving it on for 24 hours, I would like to see that wipe away
